Delivery

Delivery

The delivery of your presentation, speech or address is the culmination of the time you have spent in preparation.  Even the best-prepared speech will fail if it is poorly delivered.

We ask the client to send us his or her prepared speech before we meet.  We will assess its structure, content and deliverability.  We may make recommendations for change.

During the session itself we work through the speech with the client and assess it for ease and effectiveness of delivery, including such things as purpose, occasion, flow, structure, transitions, choices of word and phrase, sentence length, suitability of expressiveness for best use of voice and body language, and the use of abstract and concrete words and expressions.  We discuss any concerns the client may have about the speech and the occasion.

We then practise:

  1. How to move to the speaking point.
  2. What to do when you get there.
  3. Making eye-contact.
  4. Your speaking rate.
  5. Use of body language and the voice.
  6. Use of props and visual aids.
  7. Delivery using notes.
  8. Delivery using a script.
  9. The way you present your material.
  10. Your timing.
