How to conduct media interviewsDoing a live spot on morning radio? Producing a soundbite for the evening TV news?  Contributing an article in the financial press?  Sitting on a media panel?  The purpose of this course is to enable you to be at ease with all elements of the media, and to make full use of it. The course is usually held in Central London but working in a television studio can be arranged at additional cost.

A professional journalist conducts mock interviews.  These sessions are filmed, and participants are coached in the playbacks.

This media training course covers the following:

TV and Radio

  1. Preparation, do's and don'ts.
  2. Inside journalists' heads.
  3. Soundbites.
  4. Questions to ask the interviewer beforehand.
  5. What to do and what not to do in the studio.
  6. Responding to questions.
  7. How to feed questions to the interviewer.
  8. What to look like - image projection.
  9. Scripts and embargoes.
  10. The outside interview.

Newspapers and Periodicals

  1. How to prepare, and the importance of deadlines.
  2. How and how not to present a story.
  3. Press Releases - their purpose, your intentions.

We will also prepare clients for appearances before Parliamentary Select Committees.

Length of course: Half a day or Full day

Cost of course: £1200 + VAT (Half Day), £1800 + VAT (Full Day).  If a TV studio is required there will be an additional cost.
